How to Help Tbirds Kick Some....Goals

TIAA is pleased to announce the re-launch of the Tbird Futbol Club

2017 Alumni Game

Thunderbird Football/Soccer Club, one of the original clubs on campus, has been re-energized this year with 25 students and alumni playing weekly at the new downtown campus. The team is excited to attend the MBA World Cup tournament hosted by University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), the weekend of November 10th, for the first time since 2008. The tournament will take place UCLA’s main campus and will host 24 top ranked MBA university clubs from around the world.

Thunderbird FC is also planning two events for Spring 2019, an Alumni game and a trip to the MBA World Cup tournament at Dartmouth/Yale. Updates on finalized event dates and times to come. In the meantime, please feel free to follow our Thunderbird FC Facebook page, (https://www.facebook.com/groups/538321849514810/).

Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained...

Developing the Venture Capital and Tech Ecosystem in Latin America

Posted by: Andreas Kraemer, '96 on Wednesday, October 17, 2018

“Did you just wake up one morning and ask yourself: What is possibly the hardest thing you can do?”

Andreas Kraemer, '96 Tbird and TIAA member, says he gets that question a lot.  Guadalajara, Mexico, has long been considered the “Silicon Valley of Mexico”. Companies such as Oracle, IBM, Intel, Jabil, Bosch and Flextronics have established a presence here, some for over 15 years. Young companies such as Wizeline have large operations with over 200 software developers. That’s today. But of course, it’s easy to look at the present and forget that the road here had to be forged through unknown territory by brave explorers. Read the full story.   (Photo: Thundercouple Andreas and Carol Kraemer at their Tbird graduation in 1996)
