Penang Conference Highlight Reel Now Available.

"Professional top notch conference....very relevant topic...absolutely fabulous setting." "Just fantastic."

"First-class experience in every aspect."

Why this buzz?

TIAA is By Alumni, For Alumni. Were you with us in Penang? If so, then you know what the buzz is about. For those who could not join us this time, we look forward to welcoming you next time.

At these professional development conferences, TIAA provides access to business, geopolitical and personal development content delivered by leaders with international reputations and expertise. We continued this tradition with our Fall 2018 conference, when we gathered in Penang, Malaysia to discuss, learn and engage with experts on the topic of Sustainability in Business: The Next Asian Revolution. This was our first conference partnering with Thunderbird and ASU, and we welcomed faculty and senior leadership from both schools who observed and participated in this weekend’s events.

New Membership Benefit Survey Closed; Winners Announced

This Summer, TIAA member Glen Wheatley '88 (and Penang Conference Panelist, by the way), approached TIAA with an idea: to develop and offer a new TIAA membership benefit that could align well with TIAA's focus on alumni professional development. We invited all paid TIAA members (active members at Recent Grad levels and higher) to spend 15-20 minutes completing an online survey. Thank you to all of our TIAA members who participated. Those who completed the anonymous survey could submit their email addresses for a drawing of one of three USD $100 Amazon gift cards (provided by a sponsor). The survey is now closed, and those winners have been randomly selected and notified.

Congratulations to these TIAA members who will receive their prizes by email shortly:

  • Megan Staley, '04, Oil & Gas, London. TIAA Annual member
  • Gavin P. Smith, '13, Media, Marketing & Nonprofits, North Carolina USA. TIAA Annual member
  • Jorgen Gustafson, '17, Financial Services, Washington USA. TIAA Annual member

We thank ALL of our survey respondents for their valuable comments, insights and suggestions around this potential new membership benefit. The data is being analyzed, and next steps will be determined. Stay tuned!
